The film adaptation of Margaret Laurence's best-selling novel has been extremely well executed by director Kari Skogland and the main character Hagar Shipley is compellingly portrayed by both newcomer Christine Horne (it was her first film and she was terrific!) and the always amazing Ellen Burstyn. The Stone Angel is a character study of a woman nearing the end of her life who looks back on it to try to make some sense out of how things turned out. Through her recollections we learn about her passions, her sorrows and the sacrifices she made along the way. This is an excellent rental and you won't be disappointed by the supporting cast either. Canadian actor Kevin Zegers is one to watch in
Well executed real life story.
My son features in this movie redition of the clasic book. He's the first of the 'births' seen in the Movie. He is Baby Marvin.
This movie is based on one of my favourite books. They did a great job!!!
"Mezmorizing" A Life's Journey well travelled! Touching, Smart, Simply Unforgetable! To anyone who wants to see how life truley evolves, Who we are, who we become and the lessons we learn along the way. A Must See movie for all ages!
Loved this movie. Cole Hauser should gain critical acclaim for this one!! He played Bram to a T. The subject may not be so interesting to younger people...but they really should pay attention to life's lessons.
A little jumpy at first, but as we begin to know and understand the characters they become people we can all relate to. Very touching story. Well done.
Very long, very boring. Good plot line but not well executed.
This movie is absolutely FANTASTIC. It is touching, funny, and unforgettable. Sure to be a classic! Don't miss this one.
