this movie was great i loved it
Good film, however, poor representation of disability.
This movie is so monumentally gorgeous on every level that it takes your breath away. JAVIER BARDEM IS A GOD. This may very well be the performance of the decade - never mind the year. The fact that he did not receive an Academy Award nomination is a travesty. In spite of the subject matter there is a lot of well intentioned humour and it`s definitely not depressing or downbeat. This is one of the finest films of the year.
A good topical film, but one which I think is more poignant for those who can personally relate to what the main character is experiencing. Very thought-provoking with different angles, and leaves it open to the viewer to decide on one`s own beliefs, ethically, emotionally and spiritually - it does not preach. Interesting how even the beleifs of the characters change in the course of the film. However, not gripping and certainly not overly-emotional, which is good to a point, but it doesn`t pull the viewer deeply into the characters - one is left to observe all objectively from the outside.
