What a snore....
I had high expectations for this one. Unfortunately it was so boring I wish I gave up on it 20 minutes in. I was waiting for some political message and not only there was none, it was also not explained why Susan's character gave herself up in the very beginning. No wonder they shut it down real fast in theaters. Too much talent in this movie gone to waste.
I see 1-2 movies every week, and I almost missed this one. I am very surprised it was not bigger than it was, as it has a great plot with great acting and cast! I wish they allowed 1/2 stars, as I would rate 4.5 out of 5.0
Good movie, worth a watch . Remindes me of another Redford movie three days of the condor , I felt it was almost a copy of that movie somewhat, but still worth a watch.
Great casting and story. Sure Redford has aged as has Julie Christie etc. and provide really interesting characters in a well acted movie with a twist. Particularly love the scenery in the woods - gorgeous trees and mountains.
a finely crafted, thought provoking movie that does much more than relate characters needing to reconcile their past actions with the present. now they must re-examine their passions for fellow men in the context of their new families and lives they have made for themselves. the movie tells the viewer about social commitments and asks rather obliquely, what are you feeling and doing for your fellow men? we had vietnam and gave so much for our cause, the movie says. what about you?
