Original takes us back in time who played Chevy chase did a very good portrayal. Lots of chaos in the end it came together. Rated R. Not usually NBC.
I enjoyed the rawness of each character, each "not-ready-for-prime-time player. The actors portrayed their characters very well, but I would have liked to have seen more of the women. Live sketch shows, I imagine, would be chaotic, especially their debut, especially with young unseasoned folks. Lots of profanity and drug use, but brought back fond memories. Those were the days of real talent and entertainment.
an opportunity to tell an interesting story was totally screwed up. as a fan of snl I was looking forward to the behind the scenes look at really took place and how the show made it on the air. the acting was frenzied with little or no continuity to speak of. not sure what the producer of this show had it mind, but it failed miserably. a waste of my money.
Hectic, that was what happened behind the curtain of Saturday Night, especially during the 2 hours preshow. It all seems impossible, that no one will be ready, that they will have to roll some other show, pre taped. Even 1 second before the camera rolls, no one knows if the executive will cancel it. Even AFTER the LIVE broadcast starts rolling across America we wonder if actors will show up. Miraculously, it clicks and the belly rolling, full body laughing of the studio audience and those at home begins unceasingly. And at the end of the TV show, we know we did not get enough. Excellent characterization. The one problem is that it is not enough. We want to experience what the whole show was like - for both the actors / tech people, as well as the viewers in the audience and at home. In this sense the movie is incomplete.
way to much confusion
