Wow, what a movie… I had to pause it several times to take a breath. There have been real instances of entire families kept in isolation for years, so this is not an entirely fictional scenario. The movie is shot predominantly from 5-year old Jack‘s perspective. So, imagine you are born into an 11x11 foot environment, and that‘s all you ever knew. This is "Room" which is real to you, and then there is "World" which only exists on TV. Excellent performances by the two lead actors! Absolutely stunning when Jack sees "World" for the first time, and his struggle to cope with it, yearning to get back to "Room" which he feels comfortable with, but also enjoying what this overwhelming new existence has to offer. Definitely not a feel-good movie but one that leaves you thinking…
Black Comedy about woman betraying her future husband. She gets pregnant to make it interesting. He tape everything and is left only with her dress, which almost seems to be enough. Explosive ending, that's a promise. Hai doggie!
BRIE LARSON IS A TERRIBLE ACTRESS
the best movie of all time!!!!!
Brilliant film. I was disappointed with the character played by William H. Macy, Joy's father, who seemed to serve no purpose other than hating Jack for being a child of rape, and being a pathetic alcoholic. Otherwise there were no missteps or false notes. A must see.
Beyond my expectations. Well written and very well done. I can't say enough about it.
One of the best movies I've ever seen! Totally blew me away...
excellent movie! but don't go to get cheered up
Excellent film with outstanding performances by Brie Larson and Jacob Tremblay. Brie Larson deserves the Oscar for her amazing performance.
Excellent performances, entirely noninvasive production, emotionally captivating and heartbreakingly thought provoking.
