The two gorgeous leads, Matthais Schoenaerts and Adèle Exarchopoulos, are dynamic and exude old-Hollywood movie-star charisma without fluff, they are committed to their roles and they shine. The plot has twists and turns that change the wow-dynamic of the first half of the movie to some really awkward stretches in the second half that almost seem like another movie...until finally Gigi and Bibi are faced with a virtually insurmountable roadblock. Wish it hadnt gone that route, bogging down the truth-and-lies theme that the film handles cleverly for the most part. But you have to give director Roskam credit for his willingness to take risks with an unconventional approach to the storyline...And the two leads are eye-candy, both dressed and undressed... Devoted Schoenaerts fans will love it!
