Easily john hughes' best film. If you let yourself be open to the film, Hughes weaves a very subtle masterpiece about the American dream, its shortcomings, and the looming spectre of homelessness and job loss at a time when the economy really started to tank. Very high end performances by all principal actors, a solid score, and briliantly optimistic cinematography, merge to create a moving film greater than the sum of its parts
