Well. Satoshi Kon has done it again. Beautiful art, original, highly entertaining plotline... And such, and such. It was just... Really good. And, really fun to watch. Highly reccomended to people that aren't boring as Hell and only like crap that's like everythin' else.
Paprika delights, stimulates, absorbs. This, being my first exposure to Japanese anime, I could not ask for a better introduction to the genre. The theme of Paprika is fascinating: what if, in trying to help someone come to terms with a dream, you end up creating a world where the boundary between reality and dreams dissolves? Not just your boundary, but everyone else's, where individual dreams merge into one collective dream: a delusional nightmare waiting to happen or one big happy dream fest? Paprika is intelligent and demands a lot from the viewer, so if you intend to follow this fast-paced adventure, go into this film ready for a challenge! It's a shame it doesn't have a wider audience.
