Much better than expected! I doubt there exists a more elaborate revenge plot than this movie provides. Josh Brolin is perfect as the cad turned victim, then tough guy, Brolin's big head square jaw make him appear straight out of a graphic novel which I've read the story is based.

When it comes to cult classics, no one, no matter how talented the director, should try their hand at directing a new version. Spike Lee's work, to me doesn't lend well to this genre of film. It proved to be a distraction for me. Hollywood never learns, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
