This movie is nothing more than watching people walk the Oregon trail. Nothing happens in the movie. the movie has no justifiable ending. its just people walking. there is no drama. the dialog is "pass the bacon" "i made some bread" "we are almost out of water" . There is nothing to watch...just walking from different camera angles.
a waste of 100 minutes of valuable time, and all because the people who made it did not see fit to give the movie an ending. no one should ever bother to watch it.
boring boring boring
Director Reichardt(Old Joy,Wendy and Lucy)presents the story of settlers in covered wagons heading west in the 1840's in realistic but minimalist style. The pace is a bit slow and this film is not for all tastes.
could have been better
I really enjoyed this visually stunning and slow moving arthouse film. It's a stripped-down Western that takes place in 1845 with no action involved as this movie focuses upon the characters and their settings.
