Massively overpraised film is pretentious political nonsense made by Hollywood cinematographer/pinko Haskell Wexler. Despite the raves from imbecilic critics, this is a fundamentally empty film. It has the illusion of depth and importance but it's much less than the sum of its parts. The shallow nature of the whole film is exposed in the movie's non-ending. What do you do when you realize you have no ending? What do you do you when you realize you didn't have a story to begin with? Just kill off your characters at the end! This is terrible hippie nonsense, but Forster was a good actor and he deserved better (and got it with pretty much every other movie he made.)
