The cinematographer had some promise of talent. I actually felt embarrassed for the "actors."
Watching paint dry would be more entertaining. Acting was cheesy & over the top. I went online to read if maybe I got my review wrong only to find that the high ratings are from weird fans who campaigned to give good reviews despite seeing it. Honest perception without bias reviews are going to be the lower scores.
I need to see a sequel to this. The ending was so unexpected for me and there's so much potential to expand on this story. Although I cried multiple times (I'm a big baby with C-PTSD so that's not hard to do to me tbh) I kept watching. The actors were great, and you could really tell when Amber Heard FELT her lines. I can only imagine how this role felt for her, portraying a woman defending a boy from a mob who misconstrued his actions, as we know she was a victim of this herself ("we" as in people who have seen the unsealed documents proving Depp physically abused her many times, or Medusone's coverage of the Depp v. Heard trial and the U.K. trial where he rightly lost). She must wish she had some "Grace" in her life. I think in the next film they could maybe work on the flow a bit, because it felt like they had cut a scene to make the film shorter because the romance developed so quickly IMO, but that might just be because I'm a prude so I'll take off no points for that. Other than that though it's a very thought provoking film that left me wanting to find out more. I really want a sequel because this feels like part 1 of an amazing story, but perhaps they want to leave room for discussion and people can use their imagination to decide what they think would happen next.
There should be a 0 star rating. I rented this with an open mind. Sadly I had to force myself to watch it til the end. I don’t know if it was the script or if I didn’t care for the Italian actors. The best part of this movie was the trailer. Amber Heard is barely a supporting actress. Thinking she could play a lead character was a huge mistake. This is 1 1/2 hrs of my life I can’t get back or the $6.99 rental fee.
Yeah, someone ought to throw Amber Heard on the fire. Bitch!
