Brilliant and yes, disturbing, but women all over the world live with such horror.
moving
Another film I saw at the Kingston Canadian Film Festival and it was by far the most disturbing one I saw. This is not Deepa Mehta's finest achievement, that's for sure. It was filmed in Toronto and the young actress who played Chand gave a deeply moving performance; however, if you want to watch a beautiful, naive Indian woman get the shit beaten out of her by her misogynistic husband while his horrible family allows it to happen, by all means go. It's excruciating to watch and if you're a woman, it will make you feel sick to your stomach. Why anyone would want to watch this knowing what it's about, I don't know!
very good movie !!!!
Preity has done a great job.... deserves many more awards..
It was a badly directed Deepa Mehta film - there was hardly a climax... we would expect more from her.
Very well Directed and Preity did an excellent job.
