Was prepared to walkout after hearing negative opinions from several viewers. Maybe that was why I was pleasantly surprised to find it an enlightening study of how a best seller becomes one. Colin Firth was very good and Jude Law did not deserve the scathing reviews he got from several reviewers. I am a writer and my husband is an editor, so that may be part of why we liked it. Neither of us knew much about Thomas Wolfe so it was great to learn about one of Americas's great writers. The script was good, direction solid and the story was engrossing.
Excellent movie! Colin Firth and Jude Law successfully displayed some of the joys and sorrows of the literary world of the '30's. I would recommend it to others and would see it again.
Fantastic, does a great job of showing the literary world of the 1930s.
