Kristen Stewart playing an emotionless character. I would say its suited for he but the movie is still bad
Heavily borrowed story elements and visual style from Equlibrium and Gattaca (and half a dozen other well known dystopian tropes), but with a romantic focus that eschews unbelievable (but decadently fun) Gunkata scenes for emotionally believable characters and motivations not typically seen in the genre. The pacing is definitely slow, but several well placed moments of tension keep the story moving along and invested in the characters' fates. While predicatable and unoriginally stylized, it is undeniably a beautifully shot film with an apropos shoegazing inspired soundtrack that enhances the stark visual feel of the movie. My only major gripe is that the dialogue in some of the intimate scenes was a bit muffled and hard to understand, but realistic given all the blubbery emoting throughout the film.
Slow paced, sleep-inducing, a rather bad version of the much better movie "Equilibrium" with Christian Bale, Emily Watson and Taye Diggs.
