its a light comedy movie.Loved to see Lisa ray
i think it was fun and definitely something else.
Save your money and time. This movie was a dud, and it just reinforces harmful stereotypes (ie. Canadians are clued out, Indians are not to be trusted). The cooking part of the storyline seemed like an afterthought. The acting was stilted and overdone.
Boring! I was rolling my eyes throughout this film with it's disjointed storyline and slow pace. The characters were not well written. It seemed like the cooking and storline b/w Stella & Don McKellar's character was an after-thought. Very disappointing!
I try to support Canadian film as much as possible and go to see as many as I can in the theatre. My husband and I went to see this movie expecting "A lighthearted, satirical, social comedy about an unsuspecting couple in the Canadian Diplomatic Service posted to New Delhi who inherit a household of Indian servants headed by the wily, charming... and totally inspiring cook - Stella" as they say on their website. Wily and charming my ..... I found the character obnoxious. We were both horrified at the message this movie contained. As far as I could see the message was - stupid Canadians can be ripped off and deceived over and over again, give up their money and worldly goods - and
was okay..very slow paced. rather watch it from a library
enjoyed the movie!!!!loved it!!
