I love this movie.. it very emotional one that I can relate too. I want to see it again.....
A sprawling, ambitious drama representing the generational damage done to Indigenous Peoples of Canada (Manitoba) from Residential School Policy and subsequent treatment of our first nations of Canada. Much to be learned and considered and Marie Clement is to be commended for her skilled filmmaking and depth of her script. Not to be missed. It is an important film for Canadians
This movie unpacks an important uncomfortable part of Canada’s history. The treatment of Canada’s First Nations by European colonizers is an under acknowledged part of our history. We must learn the truth before we can reconcile. It was powerful and moving. Very well done. Thank you for brining this film in.
Slow very slow, someone needs to re-edit this movie to make it flow better
Another effort of propoganda that was turned into a big screen movie used to perpetuate any divisons of the past. A story that selectively raced thru pieces of Canadian history all while looking thru the lense of one person toting their own banner of truth. If the movie was meant to entertain the audience - sure. If it was meant to enlighten the audience, that is TBD.
The acting wasn't great but the story was interesting. Not unhappy that I saw it.
I enjoyed it. The story was good. The acting was so so.
Truth be told
