This was a really good movie. But be warned if you have a loved one who is an addict this will have you sobbing uncontrolably. For those who think addiction only hurts the addict think again addiction is a family disease and all who love the addict suffer tremendously. Often grieving for years and years feeling utterly hopeless and unable to save their loved one. And if their loved one dies the pain is even greater because any hope is forever gone to have their loved one get clean.
One of the most intense movies ever. Excellent acting.
Very well acted but very sad to watch how drug addiction affects the addict as well as the family...A parent nightmare!!!
Strong performances. Well wrtten. The chronology of the story occurs in flashbacks, and sometimes out of logical sequence, which is effective.
True very straightforward, graphic depiction of drug addiction and what the users life is like and how it affects the families, friends, jobs and the rest of their life. This can happen to anyone and it can be very difficult to find help at times. Don't ever give up. At the very end of this movie, AFTER the credits Nic Sheff speaks to everyone. And I'm not talking about the poem he recites before the credts, this is AFTER. Very interesting. I wish Nic the best. And thank you David Sheff and Nic for bringing this subject to the forefront so hopefully people will be less judgmental.
When the movie ended, you could hear a pin drop. It was pure silence due to how hard this movie hits you in the heart.
