I saw this movie years ago while I was in Canada on vacation and was just relaxing in my hotel. I found it quite moving and still think about it today. Definitely worth a watch.
Excellent coming of age movie, saw it on APTN, while not deep the dark ending of the young girls abuse was disturbing. I did relate to the main character that young uneasy teenage life, "I don't belong here, I never did." Good acting mostly, I would recommend it, and would watch it again myself. (That's my highest compliment)
This film is a little gem. It does not spell everything out you have to join the dots .so it keeps you thinking. Acting and camera work professional. Nice direction too.
I found this movie confusing. Were we supposed to pick up on the abuse that was happening to Luke, or just find out towards the end of the movie? And why did Parry feel the need to rush off to be with her when she was taken into a care school? He did not seem to love her and she was only 13. O am really not sure what this movie was all about. Could it be just the angst of being a teenager in a small town, or was there a deeper message that I just did not get?
The movie is so moving!! I got really caught up in it!! And The Deer Hunter song is GREAT!!! Who is that guy??? I LOVE it!!
