VICTOR RASUK
Date of Birth: January 15, 1984
Born in Harlem, New York, Victor Rasuk began acting at age fourteen. He landed his first role when he answered an ad posted in his neighborhood to audition for an NYU student film. He went on to act in other short films including Five Feet High and Rising (2000), playing Victor, a 12-year-old boy growing up on New York City's Lower East Side, directed and written by Peter Sollett. From the short sprang Raising Victor Vargas (2002), about a Lower East Side teenager.
Impressed with Rasuk's work in his short, Sollett hired him back to recreate his role as Victor. The film won several awards and nominations, including Grand Special Prize at the Deauville Film Festival and a 2004 Independent Spirit Award nomination for Rasuk for Best Debut Performance.
Since then, Victor has played the starring role in the independent film Rock Heavy (2002) before moving on to bigger budget pictures such as Haven (2004) with Orlando Bloom and Lords of Dogtown (2005) opposite Heath Ledger and most recently, the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy.
