TIM BLAKE NELSON

Multi-talented actor, writer, director Tim Blake Nelson has excelled both on and off camera. Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Nelson graduated from Brown University and then from the Juilliard Theatre Center.

On the New York Stage he has been seen in the play Mad Forest, and in Richard III at the New York Shakespeare Festival, starring Denzel Washington. As a stand-up comic he has performed to the Comedy Cellar in New York, and the Laugh Factory and the Red Onion in Los Angeles.

He was a regular on the series Haywire and earned an Ace Award nomination for his work as a writer and performer on The Unnaturals. He was also a regular on the series Pirate Television and a co-creator, writer and performer on The Don and Harry Show.

His acting credits for feature films include This Is My Life (1992), Amateur (1994), Joe's Apartment (1996), The Thin Red Line (1998), Hamlet (2000) and O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000).

Nelson wrote and directed the film Eye of God (1997) starring Martha Plimpton, Hal Holbrook and Kevin Anderson, which appeared at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival and was released theatrically in the United States later that year. The film received the top award at the 1997 Seattle Film Festival, as well as the Tokyo Bronze Prize at the Tokyo Film Festival. He directed O, a modern-day adaptation of Shakespeare's "Othello," starring Martin Sheen, Julia Stiles, Josh Hartnett, for which he won a Golden Space Needle Award for Best Director. He has since directed The Grey Zone (2001), which he also wrote, starring Harvey Keitel, Mira Sorvino and David Arquette. More recently, he starred in Fantastic Four alongside Miles Teller and Kate Mara.

He lives in New York City with his wife and children.
