TERRY CREWS

Date of Birth: July 30, 1968

Terry Crews was born in Flint, Michigan and attended Flint Southwestern Academy, earning an Art Excellence Scholarship to attend the Interlochen Center for the Arts, and then Western Michigan University. While completing his studies as an art major, Terry was a key member of the WMU football team, where he earned all-conference honors as a defensive end. Terry was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 1991. He carved out a career in the NFL that lasted six seasons, including stints with the Los Angeles Rams, San Diego Chargers, Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles.

Terry traded in his NFL football helmet and cleats to pursue an acting career and become the ultimate family man. After retiring from the NFL in 1977 to pursue acting, Crews had a stint as T-Money on Battle Dome, modeled on American Gladiators. He is now more commonly known for his natural wit and comedic timing in his family's hit BET reality series The Family Crews.

Additionally, Terry starred in the TBS comedy series Are We There Yet?, produced by Ice Cube, revisiting the role Ice Cube played in the hit film of the same name. His other television credits include a series regular role on Everybody Hates Chris and appearances on Harsh Times, Inland Empire and Street Kings.

In 2000, Terry made his big-screen debut in The 6th Day. Since then, he's played roles in Serving Sara (2002), Friday After Next (2002), White Chicks (2004), Starsky & Hutch (2004), Soul Plane (2004), The Longest Yard (2005), The Expendables (2010), Lottery Ticket (2010) and The Expendables 2 (2012).

In 2013, Terry lent his voice for the the character named Earl Devereaux in the animated film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.

Terry also appeared in the NFL-inspired movie Draft Day (2014). The movie is about the general manager of the Cleveland Browns deciding what to do after his team acquires the number one pick in the draft. The film surely brought Terry back some memories of the playing field, although he didn’t see the gridiron in the movie.

He followed that up with a co-starring role in the film The Ridiculous 6 (2015) alongside actor Adam Sandler and Jorge Garcia, before signing on to play a role in Sandler's original Netflix comedy movie, Sandy Wexler.

In 2018, he played a supporting role in the comedy Sorry to Bother You (2018), alongside Lakeith Stanfield. Since 2013, Terry has played the role of Terry Jeffords on the long-running TV series Brooklyn Nine-Nine. And since 2019, he has been the host on the talent competition show, America's Got Talent.

Terry has been married to his wife, former gospel singer Rebecca King-Crews, since 1990. They have five children together — four daughters and a son.

Terry is also an avid video game player, even streaming himself in the past playing the popular game "Rocket League."
