TERI POLO
Date of Birth: June 1, 1969
As smart as she is beautiful, Teri Polo was a straight 'A' student at Holy Cross Elementary School, and an honors student at Dover High School, in her native Dover, Delaware.
Polo began her performing career as a dancer. By the age of 13 she was attending New York's School of American Ballet. The summer before her senior year she was signed to a modeling contract which led to a role as Kristen on the ABC daytime drama Loving. The role led to wider exposure and a role as Cicely on Northern Exposure.
Small roles in feature films followed, including Mystery Date (1991), The House of the Spirits (1993), and Golden Gate (1994). Soon Polo was ready to take on larger films. Her role in The Arrival (1996), in which she co-starred along side Charlie Sheen, should have been her breakthrough, but it was a disappointment at the box office and Polo returned to television the following year.
After a number of TV films, including A Prayer in the Dark (1997) and A Father for Brittany (1998), Polo landed a recurring role on the hit series Felicity (1998) as Maggie, a catering service owner, who is involved with Ben (Scott Speedman). That same year she appeared as Rebecca on the critically acclaimed sitcom Sports Night.
The actress returned to film with the comedy Meet the Parents (2000), starring Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro, as the daughter of an over-protective father. Continuing her work in television, she also completed the television film Second String, a comedy-drama about a group of bench-warmers who go all the way to the Super Bowl. In 2003 she landed the starring role in a new Fall sitcom called I'm With Her, in which she plays an A-list movie star who starts to date a teacher. Unfortunately, it didn't last out the season, but she returned to the big screen with roles in Beyond Borders (2003) and in the Meet the Parents sequels, Meet the Fockers (2004) and Little Fockers (2010). She most recently starred in Authors Anonymous (2014).
She has a son with ex-husband, photographer Anthony Moore.
