Sydney Sweeney is an American actress from Spokane, Washington. She began acting in 2009 after her family moved to Los Angeles on her request. To convince her parents to let her pursue acting, Sydney presented them with a five-year business plan before the move.

As a young teenager, Sydney began her career by making brief appearances on popular television series such as Heroes (2009), Criminal Minds (2009), and 90210 (2010). Following those experiences, Sydney got more exposure when she appeared alongside Amber Heard as Young Alice in The Ward (2010), a psychological horror set in 1966. From there, success was linear as the young actress made plenty more appearances on television and in TV movies.

In 2018, Sydney earned her first main role on the series Everything Sucks!, a comedy-drama that was released on Netflix. That same year, she also appeared as a regular on The Handmaid's Tale (2018), for which the ensemble won a Screen Actors Guild Award, and in a recurring role on Sharp Objects (2018) alongside Amy Adams. Sydney’s work with HBO only increased from there, and in 2019 and 2021 respectively, Sydney earned main roles on two more series: Euphoria and The White Lotus.

Outside of her television work, Sydney played "Snake" in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), Juliet in Nocturne (2020), and Pippa in the Amazon Prime Video original movie The Voyeurs (2021).

Sydney is trained in mixed martial arts. She also studied entrepreneurship in college.
