STEVE BOYUM

Raised in Los Angeles, Steve Boyum has always been athletic. A talented surfer, skier and motorcyle racer, he began his career as a stuntman after graduating from Moorpark College. His first film was Bound for Glory (1976) and over the years he has done stunts for more than 50 films, including Lethal Weapon 2 (1989), Groundhog Day (1993) and True Lies (1994), eventually graduating to stunt coordinator on films such as D2: The Mighty Ducks (1994), Mr. Holland's Opus (1995) and D3: The Mighty Ducks (1996). Along the way he also landed acting roles in films such as Zero to Sixty (1978) and Herbie Goes Bananas (1980) as well as guest appearances on television series such as Tales from the Crypt in 1991 and Walker, Texas Ranger in 1994.

Boyum has proved his versatility by also working as a director of photography on Jingle all the Way (1996) and D3: The Mighty Ducks (1996) and as a camera operator and second unit director on films such as George of the Jungle (1997).

He made his feature film directing debut with Disney's Meet the Deedles (1998), then directed several TV movies for the Disney Channel. He returned to hockey movies with Universal's home video Slap Shot 2 (2002) starring Stephen Baldwin. Boyum's second feature film was Universal's Timecop 2 (2003), starring Jason Scott Lee. Returning to television, he directed the miniseries La Femme Musketeer (2003), starring Gerard Depardieu, Michael York and Nastassja Kinski, for Hallmark Entertainment.
