STEPHEN AMELL

Stephen Amell is a Canadian actor who has been working steadily for over a decade and whose starring role as Oliver Queen a.k.a. Green Arrow in the CW superhero series Arrow catapulted him to major international recognition.
Stephen was born in Toronto, Ontario. He decided to become an actor in his teens, and subsequently earned his first role in 2004 in the Showtime/Showcase drama Queer as Folk. After that, he landed a string of television roles on shows such as Degrassi: The Next Generation, Missing, Tilt, Beautiful People and Dante's Cove.
Next he was a regular on the Canadian comedy Rent-a-Goalie, which ran for three seasons from 2006 to 2008. During this time, he made his feature film debut as a detective in the Canadian drama film The Tracey Fragments(2007). What followed was a role in the war drama Closing the Ring (2007), and recurring roles in a slew of television shows, including ReGenesis, for which he a won a Gemini Award, Heartland, The Vampire Diaries, 90210 and Private Practice.
The breakthrough role of Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in the comic-turned-TV series Arrow came to Stephen in 2012. He and the massively popular show have been nominated for a number of accolades, including IGN Awards, Satellite Awards, Teen Choice Awards and People's Choice Awards. In 2016 he won a CinemaCon Award as Male Star of Tomorrow.
In between shooting the CW series, Stephen appeared in the drama Stay with Me (2011) and the short film Code 8 (2016), a sci-fi action thriller which he co-executive produced.
The rising star can be seen in Arrow's fourth season, and as hockey stick wielding Casey Jones in the 2016 action sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles: Out of the Shadows.
Stephen married American actress/model Cassandra Jean Whitehead on December 25, 2012. They have a daughter, Mavi Alexandra Jean Amell, who was born October 15, 2013.
