STARK SANDS

Date of Birth: September 30, 1978

Raised in Dallas, Texas, Stark Sands began acting in high school plays. After graduating in 1997, he went on to receive his Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting from the University of Southern California. It didn't take Sands long to launch his professional career. Early roles were in the short Pack of Dogs (2002), as well as a two-episode stint as Toby on HBO's hit series Six Feet Under.

Mark Rucker, a director, saw Sands' performance in Six Feet Under and cast him in the independent feature Die Mommie Die (2003) opposite Jason Priestly and Natasha Lyonne. The film, which premiered at Sundance, won a Golden Zenith at the Montreal World Film Festival as "Best Film from the US." Sands landed a recurring role as teenager Will Davies on the ABC-TV sitcom Lost at Home, but the show lasted only four episodes. However, he soon found himself playing opposite Hilary Swank and Colin Hanks in 11:14 (2003), which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Sands' first role in a big budget feature was in Chasing Liberty (2004), starring Mandy Moore. He quickly filmed roles in two more major motion pictures: Catch That Kid (2004) and Shall We Dance? (2004), starring Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez.

Sands, who makes his home in Los Angeles, has a twin brother.
