Born in Sydney, Australia, Sophie Wilde has recently risen to fame through her dynamic acting. Her initial love of the industry came when she was five years old because her grandparents would take her to musicals and operas around the city. Sophie began to take classes at the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) and the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP), and graduated from NIDA in 2019 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting.

She played Ophelia in Bell Shakespeare’s 2020 production of Hamlet, then made her onscreen acting debut in 2021 with the show Eden in the role of Scout, the best friend who has recently returned from college. Later in 2021, Sophie starred in the BBC series You Don’t Know Me as Kyra.

Her feature film debut came in the film The Portable Door (2023), opposite Sam Neill, Christoph Waltz and Miranda Otto. She also plays the lead role of Mia in the horror film Talk to Me (2023). Grieving her mother’s death, Mia joins her friends in contacting the spirit world through a hand they found. Getting carried away with seeing her mother even for a second, Mia accidentally lets the spirits into their world.

In April of 2023, Sophie starred on the series Tom Jones as Sophia, the heiress that has Tom Jones questioning his place in the world and falling in love with someone out of his league.

Sophie considers herself a huge fan girl — and a bookworm. She is a huge Harry Potter fan and got the chance to work with Shirley Henderson, who played Moaning Myrtle, during Tom Jones. "I really had to restrain myself from being weird, because she’s Moaning Myrtle! I am such a big Harry Potter fan — Harry Potter is the reason I got into reading, and I’m a massive bookworm now. So to work with her was insane," Sophie told Masterpiece PBS.

Sophie, who is currently based in Los Angeles, recently wrapped filming on the Netflix series Everything Now.
