It's amazing what a little gold paint can do for one's image! British-born beauty Shirley Eaton discovered this in 1964 when she became an immediate international sex symbol and 1960's icon for her seven-minute role in the James Bond flick, Goldfinger (1964).
Before playing Jill Masterson, Goldfinger's employee in the hit film, Eaton was a child actress who got her first movie job at age 17 when she was the stuntwoman for Janet Leigh in 1954's Prince Valiant. She graduated to many other film activities in the '50s, especially in the popular Carry On... comedies, such as Carry On Sergeant and Carry On Nurse (both in '58).
Following her groundbreaking James Bond role, Eaton appeared in films throughout most of the decade, though none were as big as Goldfinger. She moved to Hollywood to appear in a number of roles before returning to Europe where she stopped making films in the1970s to concentrate on looking after her family - successful building contractor Colin Lenton-Rowe and their two sons.
