SEAN COMBS
Date of Birth: November 4, 1969
Sean John Combs, better known by his stage names Puff Daddy, Diddy and P. Diddy, is an American rapper, producer and actor. Sean was born in Harlem and grew up in Mount Vernon, New York. In 1993, he launched his music production company, Bad Boy Entertainment, and worked with artists like Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige and Biggie Smalls.
Sean made his first movie appearance in 2001 in Jon Favreau’s directorial debut – the movie Made – about two aspiring boxers, played by Favreau and Vince Vaughn, who get involved in a money-laundering scheme.
In the 2001 film Monster’s Ball, Sean played Lawrence Musgrove, a convicted murderer whose execution forces Billy Bob Thornton’s racist character to rethink his views. A few years later, Sean did the Broadway show A Raisin in the Sun. His performance received mixed reviews. In 2008, he reprised his Raisin role in an ABC TV movie version.
In 2010, he played Sergio in the comedy Get Him to the Greek, starring Russell Brand and Jonah Hill.
The following year, Sean made a guest appearance on the CBS police procedural drama Hawaii Five-O as an undercover NYPD detective. He also made a guest appearance on the sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, as well as on CSI: Miami.
In 2014, Sean was cast in Ivan Reitman’s Draft Day , an NFL draft day dramedy starring Kevin Costner and Jennifer Garner.
As a producer, he’s worked on films such as Training Day, Bad Boys II and the 1998 Godzilla.
Sean started dating Jennifer Lopez in 1999, but the high-profile relationship ended two years later, following his arrest at a Bronx club that involved a shooting. The dispute began when Sean bumped someone in the club, knocking a drink out of his hand. The man taunted Sean about his wealth and allegedly threw cash at him as an insult. After shots were fired, Sean, Jennifer, his bodyguard and driver fled the nightclub. Police stopped them when their vehicle ran a red light. Police officers found a stolen 9 mm gun and arrested them. At the police station, Sean allegedly bribed his driver to say the gun was his. The rapper was charged with gun possession and bribery. His legal team, including Johnnie Cochran, O.J. Simpson’s former lawyer, created enough doubt that Sean was acquitted on both charges.
Sean is the father of five children from previous relationships. He’s currently dating Cassie Ventura, an American artist, dancer, actress and model.
Sean suffers from coulrophobia (fear of clowns). He reportedly insisted on a “no clowns” condition in his contract before appearing on Fear Factor.
His favorite movie is Scarface; he has seen it 63 times.
