RUBA NADDA

Date of Birth: December 6, 1972

Born in Montreal, Ruba Nadda is a critically and internationally acclaimed Canadian filmmaker. She attended New York's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts in Film Production. Upon her return to Canada, she immediately began making short films, 13 of which have been shown in over 500 film festivals over five years.

Her biggest success to date has been the movie Cairo Time (2009), which won "Best Canadian Feature Film" at the Toronto International Film Festival. Set in Egypt, the movie stars Patricia Clarkson and Alexander Siddig.

Her first feature film film, Sabah (2005), won the Youth Jury Award at the Valladolid International Film Festival. Nadda currently makes her home in Toronto.
