ROSS LYNCH

Ross Lynch is best known for his roles in the Disney Channel series Austin & Ally and the Teen Beach Movie series. He is also a member of the band, R5, with his siblings.

Ross was born and raised in Littleton, Colorado as the second youngest of five siblings. Music was always a passion at the Lynch household, so Ross grew up singing and playing the guitar, drums and violin. Ross is a cousin of actress/singer/dancer Julianne Hough and Dancing with the Stars dancer Derek Hough.

The Lynch family formed a band called R5, which consists of five Lynch siblings and their drummer friend, Ellington Ratliff. The youngest sibling, Ryland, isn’t a band member but considers himself to be their manager. In 2007, the entire Lynch family moved to Los Angeles to pursue their dreams in showbiz.

Ross made his acting debut in the 2010 short film Grapple!. Although it was a small part, Ross didn’t have to wait too long to get the role that would make him a star. In 2011, at the age of 16, Ross landed his breakout role in Disney Channel’s Austin & Ally. Ross plays Austin Moon, a singer who becomes Internet famous after performing a song written by Ally Dawson (played by Laura Morano).

In 2013, Ross landed the male lead in Disney Channel’s new musical, Teen Beach Movie. The film follows a teenage couple, playing by Ross and Maia Mitchell, who are transported back in time and into an alternative universe of a 1962 beach movie. In order to return to their own reality, they must solve the issues within the film. Heavily influenced by West Side Story, Grease and High School Musical, the film gave Ross a chance to combine his passion for both acting and music.

He followed that up with a small role in the feature film Muppets Most Wanted (2014), the reprised his Teen Beach role in a sequel, Teen Beach 2 (2015).

In between acting jobs, Ross still finds time to work on music with his siblings. In 2010, R5 released their first EP titled, Ready Set Rock. In 2011, Ross’s older brother Riker Lynch was part of the Glee Live tour, as one of the Warblers. The next year, Riker rejoined his siblings and did their own tour as R5. They played shows throughout North America in cities such as Chicago, Phoenix, Toronto, New York City and New Jersey. In 2013, the band took their tour worldwide, making stops in North America, the U.K. and France.

Ross completed the final season of Austin & Ally in 2015 and then he went on another worldwide tour with R5, after completing promotion for Teen Beach 2.
