RILEY SMITH

Date of Birth: April 12, 1978

Riley Smith grew up on a quarter horse ranch in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but was discovered at a mall in his hometown by a local talent scout when he was in his late teens. Urged to fly to New York to participate in a model/talent competition, Smith did, and soon landed an agent and a Tommy Hilfiger modeling campaign. Although he had a college basketball scholarship, Riley opted to stay in New York, where he used the money from modeling to take acting classes. Three months later, Riley was flown to Los Angeles for a WB pilot screen test. He won the role, and though the pilot never aired, Riley went on to star in the TV movies Wild Grizzly and Alien Arsenal (both 1999) as well as making a guest appearance on WB's long-running drama 7th Heaven.

In 2000 he not only landed a recurring guest role as Todd on the TV series Freaks and Geeks, but also made his major motion picture debut as Tim in Bring it On, starring Kirsten Dunst. The following year, after playing a recurring guest role on ABC's Gideon's Crossing, he won a role on the WB series Raising Dad, which ran for one season. His film career was also going strong, with appearances in Not Another Teen Movie (2001), Eight Legged Freaks (2002) alongside Scarlett Johansson, and Radio (2003), starring Cuba Gooding Jr.

Also in 2003, Smith played Kyle Singer in several episodes of the hit Fox series, 24, starring Kiefer Sutherland, and shot a supporting role in the Toronto-filmed New York Minute (2004), starring Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

Riley, who makes his home in Los Angeles, is an expert horseman and also enjoys riding motorcycles.
