RICHARD De KLERK

Date of Birth: March 27, 1984

Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Richard de Klerk fell in love with acting while attending the American School of the Hague in Holland. Back in Vancouver, he studied at Lyric School of Acting and in 2003 graduated from the Vancouver Film School Producer Program and the Vancouver Film School Director Program.

Richard made his professional acting debut in 1998 with a guest role on the TV show Viper. Numerous film and television roles followed and in 2005, he won the Best Actor Award at the Hertfordshire Film Festival for his starring role in the feature film Part of the Game (2004).

In 2009, he starred in the title role in the award-winning feature Cole, directed by Carl Bessai, and received a 2010 Leo Award nomination for "Best Lead Performance by a Male in a Feature Length Drama" for his portrayal. Richard can also be in the 2010 films Repeaters and Fathers & Sons, also directed by Besai.

In addition to acting, Richard is the Senior Vice President and part owner of Rampart Films, which produced Repeaters. He made his feature film directing debut with the 2006 drama Crossed, which he also starred in and produced.

Other television credits include Stargate SG-1, Supernatural, Andromeda, Cold Squad and So Weird.

Richard divides his time between Los Angeles and Vancouver. Having once considered playing soccer professionally before being bitten by the acting bug, he still enjoys the sport.
