REBECCA ROMIJN
Date of Birth: November 6, 1972
Born in Berkeley, California, supermodel Rebecca Romijn made the transition from modeling to acting. While attending the University of California in Santa Cruz, Romijn was discovered by a top modeling scout. Her career took off in Europe, where she was in great demand for everything from television commercials to the covers of top magazines, including Glamor, Shape, Esquire and the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Romijn made the jump from commercials to television sitcoms when she made a cameo appearance on the hit show Friends, which then lead to a permanent role as the host of MTV's House of Style. She made House of Style one of MTV's most watched programs with her fresh outlook on everything from fashion to fitness to weird facts.
Other television credits include the recurring character of Adrienne on Just Shoot Me, as well as appearances on Jack & Jill and Space Ghost: Coast to Coast.
Although her busy schedule frequently keeps her on the road for long periods of time, Romijn insists that she is a homebody at heart and loves to hang out around her house when she's not working.
Listed as one of People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People in both '97 and '99, Romijn has appeared in films like Dirty Work (1998) playing the bearded lady, and played herself in the Austin Powers sequel. Her first major film role was playing the blue-skinned, shape-shifting evil mutant Mystique in the summer sci-fi sizzler X-Men (2000), which she then recreated for two sequels—X2: X-Men Reunited (2003) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). She also starred in the title role of the WB hour-long comedy/drama series Pepper Dennis, which lasted 13 episodes. On the hit series Ugly Betty, she currently plays Alexis Meade.
Romijn divorced actor John Stamos in March 2005 after almost seven years of marriage and became engaged to actor Jerry O'Connell in September 2005. They married in July 2007 and on December 28, 2008, she gave birth to twin girls.
