PETE JONES
Born and raised in Deerfield, Illinois, Pete searched for a way into the
film industry since graduating from high school. After writing a
number of scripts and having them rejected by studios, he entered another
script, Stolen Summer, into a nationwide scriptwriting contest called
Project Greenlight. The contest was set up by actors Ben Affleck and Matt
Damon, who sponsored the competition. After winning, Jones was provided with
$1 million to make the film. While making the movie his
progress was recorded and televised in the Project Greenlight series.
Jones released Stolen Summer to rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival
in 2001.
