Owen Teague was born in Tampa, Florida to two musician parents. He started appearing in theater productions when he was young. Owen joined the Movie Makers Club at MacFarlane Park International Baccalaureate Elementary, then the thespian club at his high school, Howard W. Blake High School, School of the Arts.
He played his first television role on the pilot episode of the show Malibu Country (2012). Owen’s film debut was in Contest (2013). He won a Young Artist Award for "Best Performance in a TV Series Guest Starring Young Actor 14-16" in 2014 on NCIS: Los Angeles. He has regularly acted since, known for roles on the Netflix series Bloodline (2015) as Nolan Rayburn and a guest lead role on an episode of Netflix's Black Mirror directed by Jodie Foster, as well as the movies It (2017) and It Chapter Two (2019) as Patrick Hockstetter.
Owen stars in the lead role of Noa in the box office hit film Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024).
Owen played the violin until the age of 15 and he enjoys bicycling in his spare time. He has also modeled as part of a campaign for the French fashion house CELINE.
