Although he'd played starring roles in small budget films and straight-to-video productions, D'Agosto's first starring role in a major motion picture was in Columbia Pictures' Fired Up (2009), playing a high school student who decides to attend cheerleader camp in order to be surrounded by girls.
In 2011, he was seen in the romantic comedy From Prada to Nada before taking a role in Final Destination 5 (2011), the latest installment in the horror franchise that began in 2000.

In 2014, he played Dr. Graham Maddox for three episodes during the eleventh season of Grey's Anatomy. Also in 2014, he was cast as the famous Harvey Dent on the hit series Gotham, and stayed with the show through 2016.
