Mouna Traoré

Mouna Traoré is a Canadian actress born and raised in Toronto. Mouna enjoyed theatre as a young girl and began studying acting when she was very young, including taking classes at the Young People's Theatre, attending Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan and studying at the Etobicoke School of the Arts, where she starred in several plays.

Mouna attended the University of Toronto, where she majored in Caribbean Studies and minored in African Studies and Buddhism Psychology. While in school, she worked on several television shows, including playing Serena Blafour in Majority Rules! from 2009 to 2010 and the role of Crystal Markes on Rookie Blue in 2012, as well as the role of Erika in the motion picture Carrie (2013), starring Chloé Moretz. Afterwards, she lived for a time in Berlin, where she began modeling. Returning to Toronto, she began auditioning for roles again and at her second audition, landed the recurring role of Ali on Hemlock Grove.

Her biggest break was when she was cast as Rebecca James, a morgue cleaner who's an aspiring doctor on the long-running CBC series Murdoch Mysteries from season 9 to 10 (2016-2018). She has also made appearances on episodes of Suits (2017), American Gods (2019) and The Umbrella Academy (2020) and stars as Marlene Massey on the CBC series The Porter (2022).

Mouna is the co-founder of The Mini Films, a production company, for which she has written and produced two short films.
