MISSI PYLE
Date of Birth: November 16, 1972
The youngest daughter of Linda and Frank Pyle, Missi Pyle was born Andrea Kay Pyle in Houston, Texas. Her family relocated to Tennessee, where Missi attended Germantown High School.
Missi launched her acting career with a small role in the 1996 film The Cottonwood, and followed that up with a minor part in 1997 in the two-time Oscar winner As Good as it Gets with Jack Nicholson, Helen Hunt and Greg Kinnear.
She reteamed with Helen Hunt in 1999 when she got her first taste of TV on two episodes of Mad About You.
Missi appeared on TV on two other occassions in 1999, taking a guest role on an episode of The Drew Carey Show and on an episode of Friends.
She returned to film in the 1999 sci-fi comedy Galaxy Quest with Tim Allen and Sigourney Weaver, and then made her way back to the small screen in a 2001 episode of Ally McBeal.
Also in 2001, Missi took a minor role in the musically-inclined Josie and the Pussycats before portraying her first villainous character in the funny TV movie Home Alone 4.
She tapped into her comedic skills in 2003 when she landed a supporting part in the Queen Latifah-helmed Bringing Down the House. For their hilarious bathroom brawl scene in the film, the two women were nominated for Best Fight at the 2004 MTV Movie Awards.
Missi has also appeared on television in episodes of Frasier, My Name is Earl, Boston Legal, Pushing Daisies, Numb3rs and Heroes.
She played a minor role of Tim Burton's Big Fish. The fantasy film, which starred Ewan McGregor, Albert Finney, Billy Crudup, Jessica Lange and Helena Bonham Carter, was nominated for an Oscar.
Missi relied on her comedic streak in 2004 with a number of well-received funny flicks. She played characters in Along Came Polly, 50 First Dates, Soul Plane, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.
With 2005's fantasy comedy Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Missi reunited with Tim Burton and shared the screen with Johnny Depp. She stepped into the role of Mrs. Beauregarde, and like Big Fish, the film was nominated for an Academy Award.
In 2011, Missi played a supporting role in the critically acclaimed film The Artist. The movie, directed by Michel Hazanavicius and starring Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo, went on to earn 10 Oscar nominations. It picked up five wins, with its Best Picture victory the most notable.
Missi played a supporting role in David Fincher's 2014 thriller Gone Girl and in 2016, she shared the screen with Viggo Mortensen, Kathryn Hahn and Steve Zahn in the drama Captain Fantastic. She also won a minor part in the Canadian indie drama Miles.
Missi, who has been married twice, has four siblings: sisters Debbie and Julie, and brothers Sam and Paul. She also has a half-brother named Gordon and a half-sister named Meridith.
From 2008 to 2011, she formed one half of the rock band Smith & Pyle. The other half of the band was actress Shawnee Smith, who has appeared in the Saw films as well as Becker. The women met in 2007.
At nearly 6 feet, Missi made Maxim's "100 Sexiest Women" list in 2004.
