MICHAEL PITT
Date of Birth: April 10, 1981
Determined to make it as an actor in his youth, New Jersey-born Michael Pitt left for New York at 16 with no money and no connections. Starting work as soon as he could, Pitt made his living as a bike messenger while studying acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Pitt received his first break after a cast member from the popular series Dawson's Creek saw him in the New York Theatre Workshop's production of The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek. The sighting led him to a regular guest-starring role on the series playing Henry Parker. The same year he worked on Dawson's Creek, Pitt also found work on a number of episodes of Law & Order.
With his first major television exposure, Pitt started landing major roles in feature films like Finding Forrester (2000) and Bully (2001), as well as starring roles in Hedwig and The Angry Inch (2001), Murder By Numbers (2002), The Dreamers (2004) and The Village (2004).
Throughout the rest of the 2000s, Michael appeared in Rhinoceros Eyes (2006), Silk (2007), Funny Games (2008) and Delirious (2008).
Recently, he starred in Rob the Mob (2014), I Origins (2014) and the sci-fi drama Ghost in the Shell (2017) with Scarlett Johansson.
Although an established film star, Pitt returns to stage occasionally, performing in productions such as Birdy at Duke University.
