Marques Houston

MARQUES HOUSTON

Date of Birth: August 4, 1981

Born in Los Angeles, Marques Houston was a member of the R&B group IMX (formerly Immature). Houston also released a solo album called "MH" which showcased his skills as a singer, songwriter and producer. His first taste of fame came in 1992 when Immature hit the charts with "Tear it Up" from the soundtrack of the movie Bebe's Kids. Houston also portrayed the voice of Kahill in the film.

His acting career began to take off in 1993 when he played the role of Eli Black on two episodes of the TV series A Different World, then in 1994 he landed the regular role of Roger Evans on the sitcom Sister, Sister—a role he would play for four years. Also in 1994, Immature gained entry into the mainstream marketplace when two singles from their album "Playtime" went gold.

Houston took time out from his busy music schedule to play the role of Jake in the feature film Good Burger (1997), then returned to films in You Got Served (2004), starring with his best friend Omari Grandberry of the music group B2K. They both went on to play roles in Fat Albert (2004). From 2005 to 2006 Houston played a regular role on the sitcom Cuts, and has since completed a role in the independent film Boogie Town (2011). Along with their manager Chris Stokes, he and Omari formed a production company called Franchise Boys.
