MARG HELGENBERGER

Date of Birth: November 16, 1958

Born in North Bend, Nebraska, Marg Helgenberger was part of the cast of the original feature film Species (1995) and reprised her role as Dr. Laura Baker, a top molecular biologist in Species II (1998).

After attending Northwestern University, Helgenberger became an accomplished actress who won an Emmy Award for her performance in the television series China Beach in which she played the complex character, K.C. She has made a number of guest appearances on shows that include ER, The Larry Sanders Show, Tales From the Crypt, Matlock, The Gambler, The Hidden Room and A Friend in Need.

On film, her roles have positioned her opposite stars such as Steven Seagal in The Fire Down Below and Kiefer Sutherland and Woody Harrelson in The Cowboy Way. She was also seen in Steven Spielberg's Always. After playing a supporting role in Erin Brockovich (2000) with Julia Roberts, Helgenberger landed the plum role of Catherine Willows on the brand new CBS drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. The show debuted to high ratings in October 2000 and Helgenberger has received two Emmy nominations for her work on the series.

Helgenberger married actor Alan Rosenberg on September 9, 1990, and their son, Hugh, was born on October 21, 1990.
