LUKE HEMSWORTH
Date of Birth: November 5, 1981
Born in Melbourne, Australia, Luke Hemsworth is the oldest brother of fellow actors Liam and Chris Hemsworth. Born to mother Leonie, an English teacher, and father Craig Hemsworth, a social-services councillor, Luke started his career in 2001 at age 19 on the popular Australian soap opera Neighbours.
Luke was the first of the Hemsworth brothers to start acting, and while starring on Neighbours, he made guest appearances on other television shows such as The Saddle Club (2003), Blue Heelers (2004), Last Man Standing (2005) and Satisfaction (2007).
Luke married Samantha Hemsworth in 2007 and left Neighbours in 2008 after seven years on the show. Although he continued to act part time, he decided to open his own business in the timber and flooring industry to support his family. At times, he even employed his two younger brothers.
In 2012, Luke was cast in a starring role on the V miniseries, Bikie Wars: Brothers in Arms, about a biker gang feud in Australia. His interest in acting resurged, and he was cast in three motion pictures that were released in 2014, including the action thriller Kill Me Three Times, starring Simon Pegg.
After those films, Luke started to talk about moving to Hollywood to join his brothers and continue his career making films. Following in his brothers’ footsteps, Luke signed onto the same management team as them and has been spending a lot more time in California.
Luke and Samantha have four children: daughters Holly, Ella and Harper Rose and son Alexandre.
