LISA BONET
Date of Birth: November 16, 1967
Born in San Francisco, Lisa Bonet first began acting in commercials and landed her role as Denise Huxtable on the long-running, hugely popular sitcom, The Cosby Show during high school. The show lasted for nine years, and through that time, Bonet would garner numerous Emmy nominations. When the show finished, she went on to star in it's spinoff, A Different World.
Bonet made her feature film debut in the challenging role of Epiphany Proudfoot in Alan Parker's controversial Angel Heart (1987) opposite Robert De Niro and Mickey Rourke. Although the film was poorly received at the box office, Bonet received a Young Artist Award for her role.
Through the next few years Bonet worked in films that were largely forgettable. Ranging from her TV movie sci-fi, New Eden (1994) with Stephen Baldwin, to small parts in Dead Connection (1994) and Serpent's Lair (1995).
In 1998 she worked in her first big budget, blockbuster thriller, Enemy of the State, starring Will Smith and Gene Hackman. She played Smith's ex-girlfriend. In 2000, Bonet has landed a role in Stephen Frear's new film, High Fidelity. The film also boasts a stellar cast which includes John Cusack, Tim Robbins, Joan Cusack and Lili Taylor.
Formerly married to singer Lenny Kravitz, the two have been divorced since 1993. When not on set, Bonet spends time with her daughter, Zoe, (from her marriage to Kravitz) and devotes much of her time to numerous charitable causes.
