LINDSAY LOHAN

Date of Birth: July 2, 1986

Born in New York City, Lindsay Morgan Lohan is the oldest of four children of mother Dina, a former Radio City Rockette and Wall Street analyst who helps manage her daughter's career, and father Michael, a Wall Street trader. Red-headed Lindsay began modeling when she was just three years old. Over the years, she appeared in over 60 commercials, including one for Jell-O with Bill Cosby.

At the age of 10, Lindsay landed a recurring role as Alli Fowler on the long-running soap opera Another World. Early in 1997 she was cast in the big screen remake of the hit Disney movie The Parent Trap (1998), playing both leading roles as twin sisters (originally played by Hayley Mills in the 1961 movie). The film was a box office success and Lindsay won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance by a Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film. In 1999 she filmed the Walt Disney TV movie Life-Size (2000), co-starring Tyra Banks. In 2000, Lindsay played Bette Midler's daughter Rose on the pilot of Bette Midler's sitcom Bette, which was filmed in New York. When the show was picked up, the producers decided to move filming to California, so Lindsay gave up the role and a Los Angeles-based actress was found to replace her. In 2001, Lindsay played the lead role of Lexy Gold in the Disney TV movie Get a Clue (2002), filmed in Toronto. She followed that up with the remake of the Disney film Freaky Friday (2003), playing the role originated by Jodie Foster. The film was a huge success, grossing over $110 million at the box office.

She quickly made two more comedies intended for the teen market: Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Mean Girls (both 2004), before returning to Disney for Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005).

Lindsay left her turbulent New York home in 2003 to live in Los Angeles. Her mother obtained an order of protection against husband Michael in 2004 and filed for divorce January 2005, after he violated the order.

By 2006, Lindsay was more famous for her public antics and partying than for her film career. Several of her co-stars slammed her publicly for being late to work and holding up production. Film boss James G. Robinson wrote a letter to the young star that was published by the media, in which he told her off for being "irresponsible and unprofessional" and threatened legal action against her unless she began showing up for work on time on the set of the movie Georgia Rule. She continued to party, however, and by December 2006, began attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

In May 2007, she entered Promises Rehab Center after crashing her car in Beverly Hills. She was arrested for driving under the influence and at the end of June, decided to enter the extended care program, and celebrated her 21st birthday with her mother and siblings in rehab.

In 2008, she made several appearances on the hit show Ugly Betty. On July 6, 2010, with her career at nearly a standstill, Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail for violating her probation by not attending weekly alcohol education classes as set by the court for her 2007 DUI. After serving less than two weeks, followed by another equally short stint in rehab, she promptly returned to partying. Following a lengthy break in her career, Lohan returned to the big screen with a small role in the violent action flick Machete (2010). After another break in her career the former child actress starred in a few films including Scary Movie 5 (2013), Inappropriate Comedy (2013) and Love, Marilyn (2013) and The Canyons (2013).
