Born in Shanghai, China, Leah Lewis has been working towards her dream since she was young. Leah was adopted from an orphanage when she was eight months old and raised in Windermere, Florida. She discovered her passion for acting in elementary school through school plays. She would switch between many schools throughout her life, jumping between Los Angeles and Florida with her mother.
Having appeared in various commercials as a child, she began doing guest roles on shows such as The New Adventures of Old Christine and Paloozaville in 2006 and uncredited roles in movies such as Nanking (2007). Her first big break in the industry was playing the role of Spoon in the Nickelodeon movie Fred 3: Camp Fred in 2012.
Leah continued to guest on shows such as Gamer's Guide to Pretty Much Everything, The Good Doctor, Charmed, and Station 19. Leah landed her first recurring role in 2019 as Georgia "George" Fan on the TV series Nancy Drew. She appeared on the show until 2023 when it ended after four seasons.
During her time on the show, Leah landed her first starring movie role as Ellie Chu in the Netflix original movie The Half of It (2020) — in which a shy, straight-A student helps the school jock woo a girl whom, secretly, they both desire. They find themselves connecting and learning about the nature of love. That same year, she appeared in How to Deter a Robber (2020) as Heather Williams.
In 2022 she was cast as the main voice of Cassandra Cain / Batgirl in Batwheels, which was renewed for a second season.
Aside from acting, Leah is an avid photographer. She became invested in 2019 when she received a Nikon camera from her photographer friend. Since then she has made a point to focus on photography, posting her shots to Instagram.
Leah is the voice of Ember Lumen in the Disney and Pixar film Elemental (2023) and will voice the role of Räv in the upcoming film Tiger's Apprentice (2024).
