LARRY MILLER

Date of Birth: October 15, 1953

Famous for playing snobby, stuck-up middle-aged men in a position of power, Miller was born in Valley Stream, Long Island, New York, where he graduated from Amherst College with a degree in music. Having every intention of becoming a musician, he began his career playing drums and piano in New York City bars. Trying his hand at comedy, he performed at try-out clubs such as The Comic Strip. He was a natural on stage, and two years later he was performing in clubs across the States.

In the early '80s, Miller packed his bags and headed to Hollywood, where he caught the attention of Milton Berle. Milton asked him to perform at a star-studded charity affair, where Miller was noticed by Nancy Sinatra, and before he even knew what was happening, he was renting a tuxedo and flying to Vegas to open for Frank Sinatra for a week's engagement at Bally's.

Starting his screen career with a small role in Take Down (1978), Miller almost skipped a decade before working in front of the camera again. Some more memorable roles include the pretentious manager of an upscale boutique in Pretty Woman and as Dean Richmond in Eddie Murphy's The Nutty Professor I and II. Although never cast in the lead role in any film, Miller continuously makes strong performances in supporting roles in all his films including For Richer or Poorer, Necessary Roughness, Undercover Blue, Corrina, Corrina, Dream Lover, The Favor, Chairman of the Board, Ten Things I Hate About You, Waiting for Guffman, and Best in Show. In 2000 he won a Film Showcase Jury Award for Best Actor at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival for his performance in Pros and Cons (1999), playing Ben Babbitt.

Miller has also made his mark on the small screen with guest appearances on such shows as Dream On, Mad About You, Law & Order, The Single Guy, Seinfeld, Just Shoot Me, 3rd Rock From the Sun and Boston Legal and with regular roles in The Brotherhood of Poland, New Hampshire and 10 Things I Hate About You.

Miller is married to sitcom writer and producer, Eileen Conn.
