Lana Condor is a Vietnemese-American actress best known for her role as Lara Jean Covey in the Netflix film series To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.

Lana was born in Cần Thơ, Vietnam, and was adopted by her American parents, Mary and Robert Condor, when she was an infant. Her parents also adopted her non-biological brother Arthur.

Lana spent her early years in Chicago, Illinois until she was seven years old, when her family made the move to Whidbey Island, Washington. Here Lana discovered a love for dance, studying the art at the Rock School of Dance Education and the Spectrum Dance Theater in Seattle. When her family moved to New York, Lana continued to study dance and classical ballet at prestigious institutions such as the Joffrey School of Classical Ballet, the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

While living in New York, her parents recognized her talent for acting. Despite her background in dance, her parents then pushed her towards acting, enrolling Lana in her first acting class at the Professional Performing Arts School in New York.

Lana and her family made yet another move, this time to Los Angeles. During her senior year of high school, she auditioned for multiple roles, finally landing the role of Jubilee, a superhero in the movie X-Men: Apocalypse (2016). This would mark Lana's big screen debut.

With onscreen experience now under her belt, she was cast in the starring role in in the Netflix movie To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (2018), which boosted her popularity tremendously. The success of the first movie prompted two more installments to the franchise, keeping Lana in the lead.

Her work as Lara Jean brought her international recognition, and even earned her an MTV Movie & TV Award for Best Kiss, shared with co-star Noah Centineo, and two Teen Choice Award nominations, one for Choice Drama Movie Actress, and Choice Movie Ship, again shared with Noah. ~Sean Olegario
