When people first meet Jordan Gavaris, their typical first reaction is: "Wait, you're not English?" His stellar turn as the very British Felix in the Space hit series Orphan Black has earned the Canadian actor major Hollywood recognition, a slew of fans around the world, and even a Canadian Screen Award.

Born in Caledon, Ontario, Jordan is third child of Greek immigrants. In an interview with Channel Guide, he revealed that he is distantly related to Greek-French film director Costa Gavras.

At just 19 years old, Jordan made his feature film debut in the Canadian independent drama 45 RPM (2008). He starred as Parry Tender, a young man looking to escape his dull life in rural Saskatchewan, alongside Michael Madsen and Kim Coates.

The following year he filmed a two-episode stint on the popular Canadian series Degrassi: The Next Generation. Next he starred in the short-lived Cartoon Network series Unnatural History (2010), followed by a small role in the horror sequel Curse of Chucky in 2013.

Up until that point, Jason struggled to find a role that would utilize his unique talents, particularly for accents. But that all changed when he discovered the character of Felix Dawkins in Orphan Black. His groundbreaking work as a London-born artist moonlighting as a prostitute has earned him an EWwy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, a Constellation Award for Best Male Performance in a 2013 Science Fiction Television Episode, and most notably, a Canadian Screen Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Program or Series.

Of his career-making role and the show that changed his life, the young actor told EW, "I know why I connected with Felix. I know why I connected with the show. We are all ardent film geeks who work on this show and we are not the majority. I thought what a colorful character, what an interesting career choice."

While continuing to star in Orphan Black, Jordan has also appeared in the 2015 drama The Sea of Trees alongside megastars Matthew McConaughey and Naomi Watts.

When Orphan Black concluded, Jordan landed the lead role of Justin in the LGTBQ friendly series The Lake on Prime Video in 2022. He plays a man who fathered a daughter while he was in her teens. She was adopted and years later, he invites her to spend the summer with him at the lake where his family had a cottage.

Jordan and his husband make their home in Los Angeles.
